Menantu International is a collection of stories centered around Melati (Mel) a social worker, Singaporean and Bryan, a motivational speaker & marriage counselor from the USA, living in Singapore. Mel and Bryan have been married for almost 3 years and since less than 2 years ago, they opened a Marriage Enrichment and Support Centre called Sinar Kasih, specializing in counseling services, marriage preparation courses and programmes for couples of different cultural backgrounds as well as providing general family counseling services. Through their day-to-day activities, they meet with many couples and help them with issues arising from their cross-boundary relationship/marriage. As they help others with their issues, they start to come to terms with issues of their own that they have been sweeping under the carpet.
